Did you know that: Driving + Rest = “sea freight time”

Did you know that: Driving + Rest = “sea freight time”

Published: 31. January 2017
There are many arguments to ship your goods, the actual time of the shipping is one of them.
Professional drives are subject to detailed and complicated regulations to safeguard road safety. As an example must a goods vehicle rest for a continuous 45 hours within a 6 day period. This means a truck loaded in the Netherlands on a Friday, will not unload in Oslo Monday, unless it has had a change of driver along the way.

Not only the Norwegian government wishes to see a transport move from road to sea. Various actions are being initiated across Europe to improve the busiest roads. Germany have already introduced a driving ban during weekends. Later in 2017, they will also ban lorries on certain stretches of the Autobahn during the day (07:00 – 20:00).

Advantages of shipping your goods:

  • avoid all issues faced by road transport
  • your shipment arrives on time every Monday morning in Oslo
  • you save money
  • you save the environment
