Temporary Measures for the Use of SafeSeaNet Norway (SSNN)

Temporary Measures for the Use of SafeSeaNet Norway (SSNN)

Published: 20. August 2026
Update on Digitoll and Norwegian Customs Requirements

Concerning Digitoll and arrivals with Viasea Shipping AS at Norwegian ports.

The solution chosen by Viasea Shipping is to use SafeSeaNet’s system for Arrival Notifications (MO – the reporting and information obligation), as well as for notifications relating to the main consignment. This will be carried out through the Norwegian Coastal Administration’s SafeSeaNet digital platform. The Coastal Administration’s solution then communicates directly with Norwegian Customs.

The new version of SafeSeaNet, which is intended to handle the new requirements from Norwegian Customs, is not yet ready. Consequently, the current procedures will remain in place until the new solution has been fully implemented.

Please find attached an updated notice from Norwegian Customs. (Read more about the measures here.)

We will distribute further information as soon as the new solution becomes available and has been fully tested.
